It is as good as they say.
The eats in France, in Paris, were absolutely amazing.
The cheeses (my [Drexelle] personal favorite hands down: Reblochon)
The croissants…as they were meant to be (without that greasy after taste)
The coffee…oh the coffee.
The delicious breakfasts, the simple perfect portions
This post is dedicated to Paris and our 5 most favorite places to eat!
Located on Rue Cler, excellent service (also: for those new to Paris, everyone spoke English well), delicious pasta and, oh my goodness, you have to try the duck.
#4: Fouquet’s
The celebrity “It” cafe on Champs-Elysées
The best French Onion soup we ever had
David braved the popular French dish: steak tartare (a meat dish made from finely minced raw beef). He loved it.
#3: Ulysse en Gaule Crêperie
On Rue Cler, a great place to just stop and pick up the-best-crepe-I’ve-ever-had to go. Our favorite was the banana and nutella crepe. Thank you, Linda, for recommending this place!
#2: L’as Du Fallafel
The BEST fallafel we have ever had. Excellent friendly service as well is a plus! A great place to eat and just walk around to explore the Jewish neighborhood in Paris.
David still keeps talking about this place.
#1: Ladurée
Filled with long lines, this is an elegant, luxurious must-visit bakery for those with a sweet tooth.
Most popularly known for their macaroons, there is SO much more to this place.
Absolutely loved the feel of this place.
They even have blue cups for men.
Chocolat Viennois | The best chocolate you’ve ever had melted into a drink for you to luxuriously sip
Carré Chocolat | Dark chocolate macaroon biscuit, dark chocolate crispy thin leaves, dark chocolate smooth cream, dark chocolate soft biscuit and chocolate zabaglione mousse
If you are going to order anything, order this. Oh, it’s the best: Millefeuille Fraise | Caramelized puff pastry, vanilla fine mousse, fresh strawberries and whipped cream
Bon appétit!
By the way, we couldn’t help but keep thinking of this movie (and Meryl Streep saying “bon appétit!”) as we explored the amaaaazzing food in Paris. Love this flick!

Looking at your pictures helps me relive and day dream about that week in Paris when I went! Aaaah the food and their many, hard to choose from desserts. I especially love the pic of you holding the tea cup, wearing stripes jacket (i think) with pearls, so chic and French.
Aw thanks, Michi!
love it! I want to go to France just to see the authentic pastries, especially the laminated doughs (croissants, etc.!) fun fact – millefeuille means “thousand leaves” from all the layers in the puff pastry! love making that dessert. thanks for sharing with us!
Oooh thanks for that! Now we know haha. Oh my goodness, can’t wait ’til you go to Paris. We’d love to hear what food places you recommend.
