Ah, Paris
The breathtaking art
The rich history
The unrivaled architecture
The d-e-e-elicious food
David surprised me [Drexelle] with a birthday/anniversary gift trip to Paris! David had been but I never had and he’d been wanting to take me for so long. It was…love at first sight with Paris.
We couldn’t help but feel so absorbed in its history
The opulence and grandeur
The city sights
The museums (our personal favorite Musée d’Orsay with such a collection of Impressionist work)
The crowds (we personally thought it was more fun to photograph the masses of people trying to photograph the Mona Lisa, rather than the Mona Lisa herself)
The bustling streets
The…long walks (Thank God for comfortable (and works-with-a-lot-of-outfits-so-I-didn’t-have-to-pack-too-many-shoes) boots)
And, of course, the shopping
But the best part was to be able to just take a break and spend time together.
My personal favorite site to visit in all of Paris? Versailles!
It was more grand than all the movies ever depicted. It literally took my breath away.
Where Marie Antoinette married King Louis XVI (and, oh, where they woke up everyday to attend a morning church service right in their own home)
The king’s bedchamber
The queen’s
Their backyard, the gardens of Versailles.
Massive.
Massive.
In fact, we even got lost at one point.
I was embarrassingly ecstatic when we found our way back out
We’re just so grateful that God blessed us with the opportunity to see Paris, this beautiful city
…and to have been able to end our time at a place we just had to visit: Disneyland Paris
More on Disneyland Paris. Next time.
