When I [Drexelle] saw the preview for Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never, I had to see it…and David knew, I would make him watch it with me.
Some selections of our latest date night movies, all of them great to watch with someone special and all of them inspirational.
We’re always craving inspiration. There’s so much power in seeing the stories behind how others have worked hard to get to where they’ve been. And whether you love his music or not, you can’t deny that this musical prodigy not only has talent but incredible heart and DRIVE.
You must watch this movie if you’re looking for inspiration, for a real life modern day success story of how a kid becomes world class star by 15.
From watching Taylor Swift perform at Madison Square Garden when he was 14 to dreaming he could do that in a year…and actually doing it, this movie is definitely a must-see if you’re in the mood for an uplifting true story.
A movie about perseverance and, frankly, a reminder that there’s someone who’s made it through worse stuff than you. Spent most of it holding David in panic. Thus, a great date night movie, right?
Breathtaking imagination. If you haven’t seen any of Hayao Miyazaki film, he is one of Japan’s greatest animation directors of all time, winning 48 Oscars. His films make our jaws drop as we constantly say, “Who comes up with this stuff?!” His art and his story-telling are just incredible, definitely worth it if you’re looking for inspiration and a fantastic new world. This film is our favorite of his, definitely the one you must at least check out if you’re going to see any of his movies.
Oh, and for those who would prefer to watch it dubbed, while we tend to cringe with any dubbed movie, the English dubbed version with Christian Bale is actually quite good.
