Mud run, anyone?
We were happy to be able to be part of a great cause, the Salvation Army. We sponsored the event photography for their 1st ever 5K Mud Run for their Malibu Canyon Dirt Dash.
What a blast!
David was this close to wanting to just run into the mud pit with them. Neither of us had ever been to one before and he loved it so much.
what’s the malibu canyon dirt dash?
It’s the 5th annual event held by the Salvation Army (formerly known as the Salvation Army 5K). But now with the new: 5K MUD RUN, complete with awesome obstacles and a mud pit at the end. It was filled with about 1000 participants, the walker, runner, adventurer, young and seasoned.
where do the funds raised go?
Straight from their site | All funds raised by this event directly benefit low-income and at-risk youth, who otherwise could not afford a week at summer camp. For some, this is the only break they’ll get from the pressures of inner-city life. The cost of a week at camp is $330 per child. Since many of our target population can only afford to pay $25 or less, there is a great need to raise scholarship funds. The objective of this event is to raise funds to provide full and partial scholarships for those children who would otherwise go without.
