Tucked away in a cute little corner in Old Towne Tustin is the elegant Blush Bridal Couture.
We had the pleasure to work with these ladies in our Snow White & the Huntsman stylized wedding. We got to work personally with Amy who was a total sweetheart and so helpful! We just had to check out their store and meet the rest of their ladies.
how did you two start Blush Bridal Couture?
Anna: When I got married, I felt there was such a huge lack in Orange County – there was no great experience when shopping for your wedding gown. It felt like I was just going out to buy another outfit. I wanted to give a bride that super special moment, something different. Plus, I love fashion!
Amy: We’d been best friends for 12 years. Anna’s a very visual, creative, rearrange and decorate beautifully type.
Anna: Amy’s the organizer, super Type A.
Amy: So we decided to open a fresh, hot, fun bridal salon that gives a magical experience for brides. No pressure. No sales feel. Our store opened on September 2010.
how’d you come up with the name Blush Bridal Couture?
Anna: We sat on Amy’s computer one night.
Amy: I kept thinking the name is SO important. I didn’t want it to be like everyone else’s. I wanted it different. We just went through our minds of every word that reminds us of bride or weddings. I started looking up logos. I saw the logo with the girl with blush on her cheek. Blushing, blush, BLUSH! It all stemmed from finding that logo and wanting it really soft and pretty.
what makes your salon unique from other salons out there?
Anna: It’s such an intimate feel. The girls go above and beyond to give the brides just a super special time. We serve champagne to every single person that walks in the door (not just only if you buy a dress). We just try to cross our t’s and dot our i’s. We want everything perfect. We want to provide everything. No sales pressure. Every bride that comes in leaves with a personal blush bridal couture bag filled with all of our goodies aand preferred vendors. It’s just a totally different appointment. They won’t go to any other store and get the same service.
what’s your favorite type of bride?!
Anna: I like out of the box brides for sure. I love the ones who just totally wanna go out of the box couture, funky brides. I think that they’re super fun.
Amy: I like the bride that comes in and has absolutely no vision whatsoever because it makes it fun for us to be able to get to know her within an hour and a half and just play around.
Anna: Once we’re with bride for a half hour, we know what dress looks great on her. There’s a dress for every bride.
what advice do you have for brides when preparing to meet with you?
- Always schedule an appointment
- Be open minded: You won’t know exactly how a dress will feel or complement your figure ’til you try it on.
- Bring the important family or bridal party members: Girls always need opinions. We do. Most girls say they don’t want to make the final decision without their mom or bridesmaids.
- Finalize the dress at least 7 months before the wedding day: It gives you plenty of time to get the dress in and then to have a couple of months for the seamstress.
what advice do you have for brides in finding the perfect dress for their body type?
It depends. A lot of the dresses have different structures so sometimes a bride will assume a certain shape won’t flatter her figure. But in the end, that dress can make her figure beautiful and take away her insecurities because she’ll feel that support. So we always have them try a few different shapes just so they can see.
anything else you’d love to share?
We’re just so excited it’s been a great year and a half. We’re expanding our store in 3 weeks! It’s just been a really good, fun business and we’ve met so many great people and have so many good stories that make us cry. We keep in touch with some of our brides. We’ve gone to our brides wedding! It’s just great when we bond with our brides.
