How to Choose Between Wedding Photographers

June 6, 2012 by D. Park Photography Leave a Comment

Guess who’s blogging today?!  Excited to share a post from the love of my life, my Mr. Sexy – David:

Let’s say you’re choosing between 2 wedding photographers at the same price point:

  • For Photographer A, whose photos you love but you can only afford the digital negatives, you get an X amount of hours of coverage with digital negatives
  • For Photographer B, you’ll get ALL day coverage, prints, albums etc.

How do you choose?

Although it’s tempting to get everything in one package, it’s not always the best choice.  It’s so much better to spend your money on a quality photographer you love for the raw footage.  Why?

  • Because you’ll be stuck with your wedding photos forever..just the way they were taken
  • You’ll get comfort and ease of mind in knowing your day is being taken well care of
  • With excellent photos, you can always order albums and prints later on
  • You can get them edited to get the even more totally awesome images later
  • Professionals know how to approach and prepare for your special day

You don’t want to look back and see that you got an excellent deal but that your photos turned out terribly.  Because…

You can’t go back in time…

…for now

We can’t tell you how many brides and friends we’ve heard wish they had hired a better photographer for their wedding. These photographers give ridiculously good deals for a reason.  But we’ve heard horror stories: Photos take forever.  Albums don’t come in years.  The photographer was rude, missed so many details, didn’t care, came late, never showed up, had awful night shots, etc.

so what can you do to get the better photographer?

So if you love a photographer, know they come well recommended in the industry, and have great recommendations from brides, you will not regret hiring them.  Work out a customized collection with them for just their coverage for now if you can’t afford their collections now.

It will make ALL the difference.

In the meantime, some thoughts from one of our brides:

“Where do I even begin? When I was looking for a photographer, I debated between 3 different photographers and D. Park was one of them. The thing that pushed D. Park above all others was their personalities and punctuality. As a bride, when I had a question, I had to have it answered PRONTO and that’s what they did. As a bride, I want to be comfortable in front of the camera and the moment we met David and Drexelle we knew that it would be easy. The pictures speak for themselves and I don’t need to tell you how wonderful, magical and amazing they are because I’m sure you can see it yourself. This review is more about the photographers, David and Drexelle. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed while they took our photos, they understood the different concepts and feeling that we wanted to capture. I had a bunch of different ideas for the style and type of pictures that I wanted and they were somehow able to capture all of it and made it look gorgeous. Seriously, I can’t stop staring at my pictures and it makes me smile every time.”
