Part to Full-Time Photographer Series | Top Business Sites We Follow

November 4, 2010 by D. Park Photography 3 Comments

We absolutely LOVE what we do.  When we started our business in wedding photography, we hoped and hoped but didn’t expect that we’d be blessed enough to go from part to full-time photographers in 10 months.

We thank God for His provision.

We thank the photographers who mentored us.

We thank the business sites that kicked us in the butt to learn how to do business well.

But now we want to help others who were in our shoes 10 months ago.

announcing a new exclusive series: part to full-time photographer

For those of you who, like us, wanted to jump from amateur to professional, from part to full-time, we’d love to be a resource to share with you what we’ve learned and are CONTINUALLY learning.  We still haven’t figured everything out [not by a long shot] but we want to help you because we know what it’s been like…and we were helped so much.

We’re working on tips that will provide personalized [and exclusive] help: technical, business, personal – on the hurdles, shortcuts, resources, and answers to get to the road to full-time photographer.

Caveat: This is NOT for everyone.  It is only for those seriously pursuing this to be their career and who are passionate about starting their own business in wedding photography.  In the past, we’ve shared video interviews with some of the best wedding photographers in the industry but tips like those are going to now be limited to subscribers.  Only a limited number of applicants will be accepted.

Oh and it’s free.

Yes, yes, YES!!!! I would LOVE any assistance you can provide!!! I actually started tearing up while reading your post.

    * Why should you specifically be selected to be given exclusive tips on becoming a full-time photographer?
Because this is my PASSION! This is my JOY! I am self-taught, so I soak up and and all info I can get my hands on. It’s how I grow & develop. And I’ve found that the best way for me to learn is OUTSIDE of a classroom. It’s all about personal experience, and what others’ experiences can teach me. Connections and lessons along the way. I am THIRSTY for this kind of stuff. And I know that it’s a LOT of hard work. There’s a LOT of behind the scenes stuff that most people can’t appreciate. But I am soooo ready for more. Bring it ON!

    * What help are you wanting? What are your headaches or worries that are keeping you from making the leap?
Ha! I actually would like any help I can get. My biggest headache/worry is that I am stuck in a seemly endless cycle right now… I still hold my day-job because it is secure and pays the bills, and allows me the $$$ to grow my business. However, it takes up so much of my time, that it doesn’t allow me the time I feel necessary to market myself properly or work on a bunch of behind the scenes things. I feel like I won’t be able to build up my client base while I am still stuck behind a desk for 90% of my time. But I can’t AFFORD to give up the job. So, I’m wondering where to go, what to do, and how to build myself from here… (help?!)
