We feel blessed to share with you this heartwarming beautiful Castle Green wedding of Gina and Vincent!
how they met
Gina’s Story: About two years ago, I was having lunch with Gabe (our officiant) to discuss future business ventures namely opening my own gym. As he was listening to me, Gabe got really excited all of a sudden when he thought of the perfect person that would help bring my dreams to fruition and that person was Vince. The first time I talked to Vince on the phone I thought he was standoffish and not at all what I expected. I wrote him off and didn’t think that I would ever come in contact with him again. A few months later Vince contacted me out of blue and after a few exchanged emails (a bit flirty on his end), we decided to meet and talk business. Our first “business” meeting felt more like a first date and things just took off from there!
Vincent’s Story: Two years ago, I was having coffee with Gabe (our officiant) at Starbucks to catch up when he mentioned to me about someone who would be a great business partner to connect with regarding opening up a gym. As he was describing her and telling me more about who she was, I was very intrigued and excited to meet her. The last thing I remember Gabe telling me that night was, “You’re going to marry this woman”, and I thought to myself, yah right. So, one day out of the blue I decided to call Gina and see what she was about. I thought we had a great conversation over the phone and wanted to meet up in person, but she was off to Hawaii and she told me to contact her in a few weeks. To be honest, I actually forgot about contacting her until some months later when we set up a meet at Swork (great coffee shop in Eagle Rock, CA). Our “business” meeting was our first date! The rest is history.
the sweet proposal
Gina’s Story: We were home cooking dinner when Vince asked to go relax while waiting for our chicken to finish roasting. I was sitting at the edge of my bed facing Vince who was already down on one knee. It hadn’t dawned on me just yet what was going on. I remember putting my hands around his neck and he felt hot and sweaty. In my mind I thought the heater was on too high but in hindsight I guess he was nervous! Vince looked at me and in a serious voice started talking about how we had been dating for about a year and a half and he just didn’t want to wait any longer. He then proceeded to reach down into his pants (more specifically his crotch!) and at that point I was so confused and just started laughing! He pulled out a box, opened it and proposed. My first response was, “are you serious?!” Then YES!!
Vincent’s Story: I had the ring ready early February, just before Valentine’s Day…but I thought to myself, so cliche to to propose on Valentine’s Day, so I came up with a more elaborate plan – propose to Gina at her parents house during home cooking dinner date night. That night I chose to wear really fitted lululemon pants, don’t ask me why, I just did. I didn’t account that the box the ring was in was about 2 in x 2 in, it was definitely showing when I put it in my pocket. So I decided to hide it in my jacket pocket for the time being. Fast Foward – now at Gina’s house. The chicken she prepared was roasting in the oven, the veggies were done, and all there was left was waiting….Gina said to me, “Let’s go chill in my room”…I remember saying, “ok I’ll be there in a sec, I got to do something in the kitchen”….she looked confused and replied, “ok bye!”…as she left, I quickly grabbed the box out of my jacket and put it in my right pocket….bad idea! The box clearly was showing….so I thought damn, how am I going to do this….a brilliant idea popped into my head! I put the box the only place where it wouldn’t be so obvious…MY CROTCH. It was amazing. Off to her room I went, I was nervous, sweating, heated and frankly a little uncomfortable with the box in me crotch. I remember her sitting on her bed…I came over got down on one knee and took her hands and began saying to her, “We’ve been together for about a year and some months now…and I’m very happy together and want to continue this further”…and then I said, “I just can’t wait any longer” – at the same time reaching down into my crotch to retrieve the ring..she looked at me with confusion, dismay and almost fear – I pulled out the ring, opened the box and said, “Will you marry me?”…Gina replied, “Are you serious?” and I said, “ahhh yah”…and she then said, “yes yes yes!!!”

the ceremony
I’ve never seen so many tears flow during the ceremony vows.
As Vincent read his vows aloud, he broke down in beautiful tears and, to my surprise, I recognized the words he was sharing.
Let the bough break, let it come down crashing
Let the sun fade out to a dark sky
I can’t say I’d even notice it was absent
Cause I could live by the light in your eyes
I’ll unfold before you
What I’ve strung together
The very first words
Of a lifelong love letter
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you
There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me you could not come true
Just love’s illusion
But then you found me and everything changed
And I believe in something again
My whole heart
Will be yours forever
This is a beautiful start
To a lifelong love letter
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you
We are not perfect
We’ll learn from our mistakes
And as long as it takes
I will prove my love to you
I am not scared of the elements
I am under-prepared, but I am willing
And even better
I get to be the other half of you
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you
I choose you
