Introducing Janna + William’s truly magical Disney fairy tale castle and Hotel wedding.
the love story
Janna’s version: We met as teenagers working at KFC, but there wasn’t any romance at that time. We were friends for a few years, but then lost touch. About 10 years later, we reconnected and fell in love. 🙂
Will’s version: I first met Janna back when we worked together at KFC, back in 1998(?). As she said, there wasn’t any romance back then. However I did have a crush on her. She doesn’t believe me, but I know I did. She eventually quit KFC and went away for college. We stayed in touch for a year, and even went on our first date (although I didn’t call it that). We went to TGIF and watched “Remember the Titans.” She insisted on paying but I said you are a college student and I am working full time so I should pay. And it worked. However, that would be the last time I would see her because I moved further away for work, and we lost touch. Fast forward ten years later, we reconnected through Facebook and decided that it would be nice to have dinner “our 2nd date” and catch up on our lives. And this time I was determined not to let her disappear again. Which has lead us to the here and now.
the romantic proposal
Janna’s version: He wanted to propose in front of the castle in Disneyland with fireworks, but he knew I wasn’t a public person. So we had a nice, romantic dinner at the Napa Rose and then went back to our room at the Grand Californian. He gave me a Vinylmation box, but inside was a ring box instead of a Vinylmation! He made a long speech professing his love, which I didn’t hear a word of because I was too busy bawling my eyes out. I said “Yeah” even though I wanted to say “Yup,” but thought I should be classier. 😉
Will’s version: So I always knew that I would propose to her in Disneyland. Where and how took some planning. I knew I wanted to surprise her by placing the ring in a vinylmation box. However a few months prior she saw that someone had done that on one of the blog’s we follow for vinylmation collectors. Oh my stars, they took my idea! However, I stuck to my plan and was even able to find a Minnie Mouse ring box to place the ring in. So after dinner at the Napa Rose, we went back to the room at the Grand Californian to rest and I told her I had some surprises for her and I took out several vinylmations that I had brought from home to give to her. She sat on the bed and I casually knelt down beside her to watch her open them. When she finally got to the “special one” I had my speech all planned out. I told her how much I loved her, that she has done so much for me these past few years, that I couldn’t imagine being without her, and that if she would have me, would she marry me.
