Introducing the romantic love story and wedding day of Taylor + RJ!
how taylor + rj met (from the couple)
We actually met on Eharmony, it was both our first time to try online dating, he sent me a wink, and i responded with a smile. He asked for a picture, i said no. he asked to meet, i said no, and suggested we talk first, for a very long time. we traded contact information and talked for an entire month before i decided to meet up with him at a local jamba juice to finally meet face to face. we were both anxious but excited to finally meet in person. And the rest is history!!!!!
RJ’s romantic proposal (from the bride)
He proposed with a video that he made that is a continuation of my birthday gift to him. (the video i made was of pictures from all of our dates in the 1st year that we were dating) So he continued that with pictures of the rest of our dates in the 2nd yr, and also recorded a skype video of him asking for my father’s permission to have my hand in marriage and my father gave J his blessings, and the video also had all of our family’s reactions and best wishes. It was amazing, intimate, and very heart felt. And being in CABO was a great place to propose as well. Also, it was the first stormy season that CABO had in over 7 years while we were there, the hotel concierge said that “it’s lucky” on our first day there. Lucky, indeed.
the love story
his version
It was a warm summer night and two distant strangers were in search of a companion. With skepticism and reluctance, we decided to venture into the land of the digital arena. There had been many who have tried and just as many whom have failed, but God must have planned for this to happen for both found each other at the same time.
An initial wink was sent and an invitation to converse was initiated. The lady’s acceptance was greeted with excite and the conversations began. Questions and answers were exchanged. Quick queries soon became long conversations. The tips of fingers began outlasting the capabilities of a laptop battery.
It was time… a request to meet at the common Jamba Juice during the off hours was made. After several nervous moments, she agreed. During the meet, more conversations ensued with a Caribbean Passion in one hand and an Orange-a-Peal in the other. Nervousness was never relieved, but I was able to get through it. A date was scheduled: “To the Air Show!”
As we walked though the flightline together, we found more commonalities. A bond was beginning… a trust was forming. The date lead to a realization that protection was needed as we were both as red as lobsters from the beating sun. I was introduced to her friends the same weekend… And I decided to do the same with mine.
“More sake and beer!!!”, many a friends yelled! It was a joyous occasion for I have found the woman whom makes me the happiest! She was welcomed by my small group of friends… and I was truly at the happiest I had ever been…
Until……….
Due to reasons that shall not be mentioned, a roller coaster of emotions was encountered. One year of following and chasing was endured, but at the end of it all.. it was worth it. On September 21st, I noticed the clues of readiness, and by September 29, I could officially call her my girlfriend.
Like many stories from this point, my path all became clear. She was to be the one whom I spend the rest of my life with… A Cabo trip during the summer of 2012 was planned. Here I asked her to forever join me in a partnership of love.
She said, “Yes”

her version
It was late September of 2010 when I decided to give online dating a try, I wasn’t expecting to meet anyone, let alone “The One“. It was that fateful wink J sent my way that started this whirlwind of a romance 😉 Or was it God’s intervention for the both of us to save us from our terrible dating choices? Or was it dumb luck, as I found out later, that it was both our first time with online dating, and we were each other’s first online date. Perhaps it was one or the other, or a little bit of everything that threw us together.
We later quickly found out that we lived 10 mins away from each other, his work was 5 mins from my grad school, up in orange county he frequents an auto store that was 10 mins from my parents’ apartment, and his cousin lives about 10 mins from my parents. We were both surprised that we were in such close proximity of each other and had never crossed paths before. Amazing what online dating can do. I honestly think that it was bound to happen, for us to meet each other, one way or another, God is the great mastermind of this love story.
What a match made in heaven, or should I say “online heaven”. He is the yin to my yang, and blah blah blah, all that other romantic stuff. Actually, we couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Why the year chase, you may ask? What made J so bitter about that year chase? Well, I needed to know that this is the “real deal”, I needed to know that this would last forever, I didn’t want anyone just to date; I’ve done that, I wanted a relationship with substance this time around.
I took that year to discover myself, and what I was able to contribute to this relationship, and how God has prepared me for this relationship. J is truly a Godsend. During that year, he showed me that he was patient, kind, compassionate, caring, loving. He proved to me that he was The One, that I wasn’t just imagining this in my own head.
That year, and the years that followed were filled with great memories, awesome adventures, honest revelations, spiritual re-awakening experiences. I probably experienced every emotion possible and was excited and happy to be experiencing this with J by my side. One of the most important aspects about J is that he saw the importance of God in my life, and from the point we started dating, we have faithfully agreed to make God our foundation. I couldn’t have asked God for a better man. Since the day we met, J has been supportive in every way, I feel so blessed to have him in my life and to be able to share my life with him.
So…Long story short, girl meets boy, girl takes a year to discover herself and what she wanted in life and how she could contribute to a healthy relationship, girl and boy have such great experiences with each other’s company on trips, adventures, dinners, dates, themed parks, the beach, movies, and so much more, girl said “yes” to boy’s proposal in Cabo, and now girl and boy are about to get married in front of friends and family.
That is my version of our love story. I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been a great journey, and I’m extremely excited for the future with J as my life partner.
