One of the truly most emotional, beautiful, and tender weddings we’ve ever been blessed to be a part. It was an amazing wedding, Kenyan American style.
I had the blessing to second shoot this wedding with Michika Photo.
This is why David + I love to photograph weddings.

We made sure to arrive early, because you never know about traffic. Good thing! There was NO parking for several blocks so I sped over with my gear ’til I ran into this gorgeous bride and went giddy over photographing all the details!
Oh, and another reason I love her? She’s completely Type A.
From top left to bottom right below:
- To do list notecards – check!
- Packed for honeymoon – check!
- Card for her soon-to-be husband – check!
- Oh and wedding themed bottled water for guests? – CHECK!
Plus, one of the most important details to cover when getting ready: breakfast.
Eating and hydrating is so key on the wedding day! We check during the day to make sure the bride isn’t starved or dehyrated to make sure she is healthily and safely going to enjoy her amazing day.
It’s also important to get the real moments that pass by between the bride and the people she loves during the day. She was ALL smiles and laughter and it was so much fun watching her just play around with her bridesmaids as she got ready.
A key moment to photograph, putting on the dress.
Delta, you were so gorgeous. I LOVE her dress. Can David and I just get married again so I can wear a dress like that?
One of the most beautiful moments of getting ready was when Delta saw herself in a mirror and slowly and more and more adamantly started crying, “I’m getting married. I’m getting married! I’M GETTING MARRIED!”
Her mom was just a precious sight watching her daughter.
Before she knew it, the time came for her to leave for the church…and get married.
at the chapel
The beautiful florals: the bride and every bridesmaid had her first initial jeweled onto their bouquet!
There were so many adorable children at this wedding. We love catching ’em in action, such as playing hide and seek.
Kids at play
And the bridal party at play
And soon it was time to get ready to finally walk down the aisle
Delta prepared to walk down the aisle with a tender tearful prayer.
It was time for the doors to open.
The bridal party CELEBRATED and danced down the aisle to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.
Then, that final opening of the door happened. Christian was able to see Delta, his bride, for the first time, and the emotionals swelled. It was perfect.
The guests were welcomed to stand up and DANCE Kenya style! There was SO much energy and involvement for the ceremony. It was truly an on-your-feet celebration.
The couple was prayed over by several pastors from the US and Kenya.
Christian + Delta were so incredibly happy.
And they were both truly, incredibly loved.
Christian + Delta, it was a gift to celebrate your wedding. We pray the richest blessings upon your marriage, ministries, and lives. Thank you for the privilege of celebrating your love.
