the love story
While Anthony didn’t attend Azusa Pacific University, he chose to study there one fateful day when, suddenly, he sneezed in front of Lorraine. She captured Anthony’s attention with a simple “Oh, God bless you!” and with that, Anthony was hooked. After much flirting and teasing, the two decided to pursue a long distance relationship as Lorraine studied in Arizona while Anthony studied in Miami. After graduating, Lorraine was finally able to come home to her love – and to a romantic proposal!
the proposal
Looking back, Lorraine says she never would’ve expected Anthony to propose on Valentine’s day. Despite her expectations, he went the extra mile and planned an extravagant dinner for her, in preparation for the big question. Unfortunately, on the night of the proposal Lorraine fell sick and both opted to stay home. In the coziness and privacy of the house, Anthony decided to ask the question right then and there. Lorraine couldn’t believe it was happening – but there he was, down on one knee, proposing to her!
the wedding
Anthony and Lorraine celebrated their love by blending together Jamaican and Kenyan traditions into a wonderfully joyful wedding.

Lorraine looked so beautiful – the bridesmaids were even her paparazzi <3
It’s no wonder they all wanted to watch the bride that day. She looked absolutely beautiful and so, so happy!
The bride exchanging a heartfelt laugh with her mother.
Lorraine incorporated Anthony’s Kenyan background by exiting on traditional Kenyan blankets, which were laid out as a symbol of greeting and goodbye. They act as an escort away from the family and to life with the groom.
Love how enthusiastic the bridal party was. Their vibrant red dresses were gorgeous.
The excited bridal party, just before the ceremony!
The groom, his groomsmen, and the pastor shared a faithful prayer before the ceremony.
Anthony looked absolutely handsome!
The ceremony was ethereal, decorated with soft lighting and muted colors.

Lorraine and Anthony make such a sweet couple together.
Lorraine loves the ocean, so the couple decided to take some romantic shots at Corona Del Mar.
The reception opened with a traditional Kenyan grand entrance:
all the ladies sang together to escort the couple into the party!
Everyone also danced the traditional Kenyan Mugiithi dance during the reception.
In Kenyan tradition, the family gives gifts to the bride and groom that correspond to their new duties as husband and wife. Lorraine, for example, received a basket that symbolized the preparation of food.
Lorraine and Anthony were so happy together. They looked so excited to finally be married!
The couple shared a touching first dance together
and all the guests enjoyed a night of dancing along with them!
