Silver Creek Valley Country Club Wedding | Priyanka + Nihar

November 19, 2018 by D. Park Photography Leave a Comment

Blessed to share with you an amazing couple that had us crying, laughing, and dancing along!  Introducing Priyanka and Nihar’s beautiful Silver Creek Valley Country Club San Jose and So Eventful wedding!

love story (from the adorable couple)

Technology saved us and we met online through an app! Despite later realizing we were at many of the same parties in person over the years, we never met at any of those events and ended up meeting online.

For our very first date Nihar cancelled a couple hours before the date as he got busy with work. The date was rescheduled and Priyanka proceeded to cancel a couple hours before the date this time (Nihar believes this was retaliation from the first date, and Priyanka disagrees with this opinion obviously, haha). Eventually around 1 month after meeting online we were finally able to meet in person.

We went to a really cozy tea shop in the Mission called Samovar (also happened to be only a block away from Nihar’s apartment). At the time Priyanka pretended to love tea (Nihar only found out months later that Priyanka in fact doesn’t really drink tea) and we hit it off.

A few dates later we had a disaster date. Nihar had planned a surprise evening at House of Air (a trampoline place). When we got there it was closing early and Nihar had to scramble. After some quick thinking Nihar took Priyanka to Pier 39 and all the areas there were closed as well 🙁 We ended up just getting takeout from one of the best hole-in-the-wall Burmese restaurants in San Francisco.

For some crazy reason Priyanka really enjoyed the disaster date and exploring the city with Nihar…and the rest is history!

From there we spent a lot of time together exploring San Francisco. We did everything from dance classes, kayaking, cooking classes, hiking and more.

We even did a coincidental trip to India together without planning for it just a couple months after we started dating. As it just so happened, both of us were headed to Ahmedabad for weddings of two different close friends. We randomly happened to be there at the exact same time and once we realized that we planned to explore Ahmedabad together and meet Priyanka’s Nani (Priyanka also thought this was a sign from the universe telling us to be together :)).

We grew closer and closer, and really started to see a long-term future together.

romantic proposal (from the couple)

Eventually Nihar decided he wanted to marry Priyanka and the proposal came next.

The right opportunity presented itself when Priyanka had to do a work trip to New York – Nihar thought that would be a great place to do it.He started out by scheduling his own work trip to New York through his company so he had an excuse to be there in New York with her.

He then had to get the ring. He already knew what ring he wanted to buy and the perfect diamond presented itself at the right time as well. The jewelry store even said they could get it set within a week so he could pick up the ring before he went to New York which was great!

He then started thinking about the proposal itself and thought of the perfect idea (with some help from Priyanka’s sister and best friend). He started by telling Priyanka he got a Groupon for a dance class in New York. Included in this Groupon was a dance class along with a video recording of the class at the rooftop of the hotel they were staying at! Nihar made this Groupon up and had one of Priyanka’s friends design a fake Groupon.

He then proceeded to find a dance instructor, photographer/videographer, and a rooftop bar that would allow them to use the rooftop before it opened up. We learned the dance in the morning, then went up to the rooftop, and did the dance. After the 4th take Nihar proposed and luckily Priyanka said yes!

the wedding day

This couple’s wedding day had some of the best performances, most hilarious speeches, and vibrant beauty in every detail.
