the love story
Emeline and Ron had worked together for the city of Los Alamitos for years without even speaking to one another, let alone singling each other out romantically. The first time they really interacted was at the City’s 50th anniversary gala: when Emeline and her co-workers walked by, Ron complimented every single one of them – except Emeline. Though at first he seemed uninterested, Ron would later admit that Emeline left him speechless, saying:
“I couldn’t speak – you took my breath away.”
the proposal
After asking her mom’s permission, Ron took Emeline on a surprise trip to San Francisco where they visited the San Francisco Botanical Garden. He took her under a giant tree and told her that because the tree was so big, no one could cut it down and they could revisit the same tree someday with their two boys. Then, he pulled out the ring and asked her to be his wife.
the wedding
Emeline and Ron had a beautiful pink, black, and white cherry blossom inspired wedding in honor of Ron’s Japanese heritage as well as a traditional Filipino Catholic ceremony in honor of Emeline’s heritage.
They used the pink, white, and black theme throughout every element of the wedding, even in these adorable invitations printed by Papyrus!
Pops of pink and white accented the whole wedding.
Pre-wedding preparations with the bridal party! Especially love the chic black bridesmaids dresses.
Each bridesmaid wore a beautiful pink orchid in their hair
The kids were so cute.
The flower girls also had their own matching hair accessories as well. Attention to detail!
As Ron shared, Emeline was absolutely breathtaking.
The wedding party with their adorable parasols
Of course, nothing is more heartwarming than seeing the bride and groom so in love together.
Romantics at the beautiful Hotel Maya in Long Beach
A modern, almost ethereal shot of the bride and groom. Their ceremony was so touching.
After the ceremony, they went to pay respects to Emeline’s father at Forest Lawn.
She had a special gift of flowers for her father and remembered him through a tearful prayer with their family. Incredibly tender moment.
The lovely reception space, accented with shades of pink and white and decorated with bright, bold flowers arranged by Pink the Little Flower Shop
Gorgeous reception decor! Beautiful job from the lovely ladies at You’re Welcome Events!
Love the use of flowers as a theme – it was absolutely stunning to see the romantic pink petals everywhere!
Their wedding program was a beautifully designed fan, decorated with cherry blossoms.
In keeping with the flower theme, their personalized escort cards were on top of a box filled not only with delicious chocolate pieces, but also with wildflower seeds the guests could plant themselves.
Their tables were named after places they’ll visit on their romantic honeymoon in Italy.
Their romantic first dance
Emeline even had a surprise hula prepared for Ron!
Awesome time on the dance floor!
congratulations
Congratulations, Ron and Emeline! Your wedding was absolutely heartwarming and truly a joy to shoot. May you and your family continue to be blessed as you grow more and more in love together!
