We are SO blessed and honored to capture the love story of such an incredible couple. BUT FIRST we’ve got to start with their wonderfully narrated love story:
the love story
From the adorable couple:
Yes, it was at a bar. It was in an old underground parking lot and it’s called MJQ. Some of the people who will be at the wedding were there that night.
They were both in ATL, fresh out of college. The two hit it off immediately, although Ashley didn’t quite realize this at the time.
6 months later: Paul was being relocated to the great city of Los Angeles! After learning of this, Ashley knew she had no more times to play games.
One random day, Ashley was stranded in an Enterprise Rental parking lot (that’s a different story). She called everyone she knew, but only Paul answered.
He picked her up (pun intended) and they ended up spending the day together. When he dropped her off at home later than night, Ashley couldn’t resist it anymore and went in for the kiss.
It was only a month later that Paul moved to Los Angeles, without his new girlfriend.
They went through a period of a year together but apart. No one thought it would last… not even themselves.
They made it work by visiting each other almost monthly, which was a great time considering Atlanta and LA are such amazing cities.
Eventually, Ashley was able to work out a relocation to the west coast and all was good.
Living in Hermosa Beach (tough life, right?), they spent the next 3 or so years being young and dumb. Today, they are less young but definitely just as dumb. Over this time, careers have evolved and a lot of fun was had.
Paul taught Ashley how to ski. Ashley taught Paul how to be nice. They both grew up a lot.
At about 5 years, the rumblings grew to a roar… people began to wonder… will they ever be engaged?
romantic proposal
from the adorable couple’s words:
On a trip to Switzerland to visit Paul’s parents (and for skiing of course!)… it happened. Here’s the proposal story: On a cool January evening, during a walk together along Lake Geneva, Ashley asked Paul how his parent’s had met. After a short explanation, this question was turned back to Ashley… “so what does our story sound like?”.
Ashley then proceeded to take him on a trip down memory lane. They eventually settled on a bench upon the hill across the blue lake. With the sun setting in the distance, he saw a lighthouse with a green light. Paul knew this was the moment. All he could think about was the Great Gatsby…
…at the conclusion of her story, Paul said it was time to head back. “It’s getting cold babe, let’s get out of here”. As she walked ahead, Paul called out to her. She turned around to see him on one knee… “I can’t wait for our next chapter”, he said, while her eyes filled with tears of unbridled joy.
Finally, after 6 years together, they were going to get married!
