Blessed to capture one of the most passionately in love couples we’ve ever met. David could not stop kissing and holding Xuan all day. It was absolutely adorable.
We also were thrilled to find one of our all-time favorite wedding venues ever – the GORGEOUS Villa de Amore!
Introducing the breathtaking Villa de Amore wedding of Xuan and David:
the love story
Xuan and David met during their first year of medical school. It all began when Xuan and David were assigned to the same group for their Clinical Foundations course. Xuan thought David was very tall and handsome, but she thought no more of it. Her focus was on learning to become the best doctor she could be. She was dedicated to her goals and did not want any distractions. David noticed Xuan from a distance while they were both learning how to take patient histories. He was impressed by her intelligence and kind heart. Throughout the first year of medical school, Xuan and David often bumped into each other in the basement while studying late into the night for their exams. They gradually became good friends and study partners, helping each other through anatomy tests and pathology slides. Xuan got to know David and found that he was smart, generous, and persistent. She was impressed by his positive attitude and steadfastness in pursuing his goals.
In the spring of their first year of medical school, David brought Xuan to the beach at Corona del Mar. He prepared a picnic of pastrami sandwiches and five different types of fruit, knowing how much Xuan loved fruits. They shared their first kiss and David asked Xuan to be his girlfriend. Since then, Xuan and David have supported each other through the joys and challenges of medical school. Next, they will be graduating from medical school together. Xuan will be starting her residency training in Internal Medicine, and David will be starting his residency training in Anesthesiology.
romantic proposal
A few days before Christmas, David told Xuan he wanted to go to one of their favorite beaches, Corona del Mar, to try his hand at some night photography. He told her he had been researching shooting techniques with their new camera. It was a cold and cloudy Monday in December, and all Xuan wanted to do was stay home and enjoy the Christmas tree while watching movies. It was the first day of break she and David had in a while, after two straight months of interviewing for residency programs. That evening, David kept asking Xuan to go to the beach with him to capture the sunset. Xuan had no idea he was planning to propose to her that night at the same beach where they first got together. She found his enthusiasm endearing and agreed to go with him despite the bad weather. When they got to the beach, there were very few people there, and David started to set up his sunset shoot, complete with tiki torches and all. Xuan was unsuspecting and continued to help him set up. As she was standing there with the tiki torches surrounding her, David approached her and got down on one knee. He told Xuan he had loved her for a long time and asked her to marry him.
She said yes!

It was a beautifully emotional day as Xuan was surprised by David with an incredibly romantic love letter and gift.
Followed by Xuan lovingly surprising her mother with a very tender thank you letter for being such an awesome mother.
That was absolutely precious to capture.
