the love story (from the bride)

My fiance actually messaged me on friendster (it was before myspace) after I had moved to Folsom, CA from the Bay Area. It turned out we had mutual friends and we started hanging out from there. Darrel and a crush on me for a year, but I had no idea until our friends told me. On January 21st, 2005 between first and second period, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We went on to graduate from high school, then college. Currently, he’s supporting me through graduate school. Darrel has been my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my rock for the last 10 years!

On our 10 year anniversary we went to a French restaurant, The Waterboy, to celebrate. We started talking about our upcoming Disney trip and I jokingly reminded him that I had always wanted to be proposed there and that we was going to get his chance to do it soon.

Darrel replied, “Well, what if I asked you right now?”

I laughed thinking he was kidding around, until he reached into his pocket.

I told him, “Okay this isn’t funny. Don’t prank me on our 10 year anniversary.”

Then in his hand was the ring that I had picked out months ago, the one with his lovely birthstone, and I immediately started crying and of course I said “YES!”
